The federal agency says the contract has a five-year base period and then a five-year option period. The dollar value for the contract was not released.

Under the DIN-PACS IV contract, the Military Health System and Veterans Health Administration facilities can procure the full suite of McKesson enterprise imaging solutions, which are now part of Change Healthcare. With more than 3,000 installations, the company offers enterprise imaging solutions that include diagnostic imaging and workflow products, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology solutions and cardiovascular imaging systems.

The award follows several key military installations completed at Camp Pendleton, Walter Reed Medical, Fort Belvoir, Malcolm Grow and four veterans integrated service networks. The solutions are used to help improve care collaboration and streamline workflow, while helping speed care and reduce administrative cost.

\"We have a track record of meeting the U.S. government's stringent requirements for system security, interoperability and patient safety,\" said Erkan Akyuz, executive vice president and president of imaging, workflow and care solutions for Change Healthcare. \"Our focus is on helping the military health system use enterprise imaging to achieve their goals of better outcomes for patients and connected, coordinated care.\"
